Install the CLI
The dnsid CLI is the Developer Kit’s command-line tool: identity provisioning, record inspection and verification, token minting, and the DNSid Local environment. It is free to use and distributed as prebuilt binaries, with the source coming soon. The open-source SDKs do not depend on it, but it is the fastest way through the quickstart.
Install with a package manager
Section titled “Install with a package manager”brew install dnsid-ai/tap/dnsidInstalls from the dnsid-ai/homebrew-tap cask on macOS (Apple Silicon and Intel) and Linux (amd64 and arm64).
scoop bucket add dnsid https://github.com/dnsid-ai/scoop-bucketscoop install dnsidInstalls from the dnsid-ai/scoop-bucket manifest (Windows x64).
curl -fsSL https://docs.dnsid.ai/install.sh | shThe script detects your platform, downloads the current release archive, verifies it against that release’s SHA256SUMS, and installs dnsid into the first of ~/.local/bin, /usr/local/bin, or ~/bin that is writable and already on your PATH (falling back to ~/.local/bin). It never installs a file that fails verification.
Check the install with dnsid --version.
Upgrade and uninstall
Section titled “Upgrade and uninstall”Use the same channel you installed with. which dnsid (or where dnsid on Windows) shows which binary is on your PATH; if you have installed more than one way, which -a dnsid lists them all and PATH order decides which one runs.
brew upgrade dnsidbrew uninstall --cask dnsidbrew untap dnsid-ai/tap # optional: remove the tap tooscoop update dnsidscoop uninstall dnsidscoop bucket rm dnsid # optional: remove the bucket tooTo upgrade, run the install command again. It fetches the current release, verifies it, and replaces the binary in place.
To uninstall, delete the binary from wherever the script put it:
rm "$(which dnsid)"
